Description (1957) |
Class N2, Gresley's development of class N1, with larger boilers, superheaters and piston valves. Some of the class were fitted with condensing apparatus and shorter chimneys for working on the Metropolitan widened lines. A few locomotives of this class were transferred to the Glasgow area and of these two were scrapped at the close of 1955 and early in 1956. |
