0-6-0PT with 4' 1½" wheels, built between 1897 and 1905 at Wolverhampton. They were all originally constructed as saddle tanks, and all of the survivors, have been rebuilt as pannier tanks. No. 2048 was a saddle tank until 1948 when it was rebuilt to pannier design. Nos. 2181-2190 initially belonged to the 2021-2160 series, but in 1939-40 they were given increased braking power and renumbered. Apart from this there was no alteration. The last of the class was withdrawn in 1959. |
