31/10/1947 St. Rollox Works The first loco. to be painted here in the new livery was No. 5716, while Nos. 5691 an 5728 have been similarly dealt with; Nos. 5564, 5643 an 5644 were, however, painted the usual black. No. 14454 (concerned in the accident at Perth earlier in the year) entered shops for extensive repairs on 14/10, while No. 17311, following a derailment, has been provided with a new cab and another boiler. Locos. in the dump, awaiting repair are: Nos. 14632 an 17428, both without boilers. No. 14399 arrived on 24/10 for repairs, including a change of boiler, while No. 17694 was despatched on 13/10, having been fitted with the coupling rods ex No. 17703 (withdrawn). No. 16032 (Boiler Class N7, No. 2083) arrived on Works on 30/9, and was despatched to Crewe on 16/10, in two wagons. SLS/194712

09/07/1949 St. Rollox Works Locomotives entering Works 6/6 to 9/7: These included Nos. 40187, 575, 614, 40670, 40914, 1138, 42416/18, 42751, 42830, 2875, 42912/14, 4011, 4198, 44234, 4881/86/99, 44900/31/77, 45008, 45120/55/60/65/66/70/92, 45423, 5432, 45452/61/89, 45577/84, 45643, 15141/89, 15211/37, 55356, 16162, 16247/75/95, 56359, 17282, 17411, 17554, 57619, 17625/67. During June, locomotives were still being turned out lettered 'British Railways' from this Works. SLS/194908
22/09/1953 Manchester (London Road) An unusual sight on 22/9 was the heading of the 12.5 p.m. express to Euston by Jubilee Class 45643 Rodney of 12A. She had worked an express up from Euston on 22/9, having been pressed into service when the regular engine failed SLS/195312
