NER Class C1 (Original designation for Worsdell's 0-6-0 simple engines (as opposed to the compound class C))
NER Class C (All class C compound's were converted to class C1 simples by 1914, so the suffix was dropped and the whole class became known as class C)

Description (1957) Class J21. Worsdell 5'1" 0-6-0's for the N.E.R., originally 201 engines built between 1886 and 1894, most of which were constructed as 2-cylinder Worsdell-von Borries compounds. They were eventually rebuilt as simples and some were su-perheated. A few survivors still in service in 1957.
