The first locomotive was delivered in April 1957 and the last in March 1959. A total of 179 locomotives were built between 1957 and 1959.

The first locomotive was withdrawn in November 1963 and the last in July 1987. A total of 10 locomotives were withdrawn between 1963 and 1987.
