Hi Im trying to find some info on what we think was the last steam train out of Bradford, West Yorkshire.
My Father Derrick Sorsby was the Fireman and we have found an old photo of him taken for the Telegraph & Argus, I can only see the number ...004 or it could even be ...604. Sadly my father passed away last week and I would like to know more about the story - I can email a copy of the photo if it helps anyone - thank you for reading this, and I hope you can help |

I read with interest your section on the North British/MAN 330hp 0-4-0DH shunters D2900-13. Your data rightly shows them allocated to Devons Road but in reality they spent their working lives shunting at Poplar Docks/Blackwall yards. They used to thunder up the Harrow Lane incline that took the line over that which led to Poplar Station (now DLR All Saints) and the noise of the diesel hydraulic at full whack was impressive. Loud enough to act as a wake up call to me on school mornings as I lived backing on the Midland coal depot just a bit further along! The site where they were always to be seen is now the DLF main depot.

Brilliant website have been researching the Jinties at Holyhead did not know about 2 that came here and I can confirm that I saw Jinty 47507 from Llandudno Junction shed shunting at Holyhead in the 'New Yard' date somewhere around 1962.
Hope that this may help your records. |

A fascinating site full of memories! I still have the numberplate from 4F 0-6-0 No.44171 which I purchased at a scrapyard at Kettering in 1964. Do you have any sightings of this loco?

I have been able to access the site for the last few dats, but today when I try to access a loco or loco class I get the same error as Jonathon on 17th Feb 2013:-
Forbidden You don't have permission to access /locoqry.php on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. |
